About The Facility

Mercy Hospital, located in Coon Rapids, Minn. serves the northern metropolitan communities with a full continuum of care and services and has been nationally recognized for its expertise and outcomes in cardiovascular care. With 2,300 employees and 239 staffed beds, Mercy provides inpatient and outpatient services to nearly 140,000 patients each year. It shares its nearly 842-physician medical staff with Unity Hospital in Fridley, Minn.


Responsibilities 
Detect, investigate and report nosocomial infections based on targeted surveillance.  Analyze data using statistical and epidemiological principles to evaluate trends and / or clusters.  Data will be benchmarked. Conclusions, actions and / or recommendations will be determined, as appropriate. Serves as a resource by providing information needed by hospital staff for managing infection control risks and implementing infection control measures.  Present formal and informal infection control education.

Requirements Qualifications
AD, BA, BS, Current RN licensure and / or infection control certification preferred, clinical laboratory scientist certification helpful.
3 - 5 years infection control experience, clinical experience preferred, medical technology and microbiology experience helpful.


Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
40 hours per week
Days and ability to alternate carrying a pager for off hours
