We currently have an opportunity at our Henderson, NV facility for a Quality Manager. The description and qualifications are as follows:
Effectively manage the Quality Assurance department to a succession plan and continuous improvement of employee skills and abilities.
Initiating corrective/preventive and continuous improvement opportunities through defined/document channels, and actively participate in developing, implementing, and verifying corrective/improvement actions.
Ensure that a quality product is produced 100% of the time by meeting PPM and CPK goals (1.00 min).
Upgrade Quality System to ensure that best practices from other plants and industries are being used and the customer sees quality as a competitive advantage.
Maintain a satisfactory score on the Corporate Quality Audit. (65 min)
Keep return sales percentage below budgeted yearly goals.
Facilitate the plant Quality Improvement Team.
Involve customer in supplier Quality Improvement Teams.
Direct contact service representative for customers at corporate and local levels. Including project development, qualification of products and long term production standards.
Implement training programs in SPC and Quality Systems for plant personnel.
Attain budgeted line speeds and efficiencies while maintaining a quality product.
Act as the internal and external audit management representative for any plant quality audits.
Report as required on the quality status of the plant to the plant staff as it relates to yearly goals.
Ensure that the mold commercialization procedure is followed on all new mold sets as outlined in corporate procedures.
Hold a management review sessions with the entire plant staff to review quality performance corrective actions, and areas for improvement as required.
Interact directly with Production Manager and Maintenance Manager to ensure effective preventive maintenance and a reduction of changeover times.
Maintain regrind inventory below yearly targeted levels.
Provide support to ensure that the Plant meets EBITDA.
Utilize the project management system to drive plant projects by maintaining an active and updated management system.
Ensure plant is maintained at a high standard of housekeeping.
Provide a safe working environment for all employees to ensure a zero accident rate.
Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Operations experience with experience in plastics manufacturing a plus. Knowledge of quality control and testing is required as well as strong systems thinking skills and problem solving skills. SPC capabilities and/or Six Sigma is also preferred. Some experience with quality auditing as well as experience interfacing with customers is also a plus. Strong communications and change management skills are also needed. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years experience in quality and/or operations.
Education
BS degree in a technical field is preferred.
