Quality Engineer (Transition to plant)

This Quality Engineer position will focus on the development of Quality Assurance Programs for newly developed carbon and graphite processes. This Engineer position will also focus on the development of new carbon and graphite materials and their processes This position will be responsible for collecting and recording data with an understanding of statistical principles The candidate will have demonstrated successful experience with controlling manufacturing processes using industry standard quality assurance techniques and software programs at pilot scale to full scale production plant levels. The candidate will adhere to the established health and safety procedures at the R&D and production plant facilities and perform related duties as assigned to achieve the department’s objectives. Travel to other GrafTech and customers’ production facilities to assist in plant trials or field test observations may be required. Initial activities will be centered on the R&D facility in Cleveland (Parma), OH. Possible relocation to other Graftech facilities may be considered based upon successful project developments.
Qualifications:
¨ Bachelor degree in an Engineering discipline.
¨ 1-7 years of Quality Assurance related industrial experience involving pilot plant scale-up or production plant level activities and qualification, use of equipment, processing, equipment design for multi-step processes.
¨ A working knowledge of manufacturing procedures and equipment.
¨ Proficient in computer software applications for equipment control, data collection and analysis.
¨ Demonstrated good mechanical skills.
¨ Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail work.
¨ Independent work is carried out in a team environment, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
¨ Ability to rotate between first and second shift will be required.
