Sales Associate for Compact Construction Equipment


 

 

We are seeking a self-motivated, organized and goal-oriented person to aggressively sell our compact construction equipment to new and existing customers.   Bobcat of The Twin Tiers is a division of Thompson & Johnson Equipment Co., an industry leader in sales and service of compact construction and material handling equipment since 1954.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Maintaining and growing customer base through effective sales strategies.
  • Interacting with customers, prospects, and internal staff via phone and email on products and services.
  • Completing administrative duties such as preparing proposals and quotes, scheduling sales calls and developing sales reports. 
  • Candidates will be required to travel regularly throughout the Southern Tier area to deliver and demonstrate products at customer location.

Sales Associate for Compact Construction Equipment


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of three-five years related sales/marketing experience.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Must have at the time of hire, and maintain throughout employment, a valid NYS drivers’ license free of major infractions.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

  • Ability to gather data, analyze information, and prepare reports.

  • Ability to identify and/or follow up sales leads and referrals.

  • Ability to operate a computer to send/receive email messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing and/or data entry.

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in meeting sales and revenue goals.

  • Ability to travel throughout the area on a regular basis.
