Crescent Electric Supply Company is looking for a District Purchasing Manager to be based out of our Omaha, NE branch.

The District Purchasing Manager is responsible for the procurement of product maintained in inventory with a balanced emphasis on increasing service levels to customers while increasing the turnover of inventory in multiple locations.  Responsibilities include maintaining good relationships with vendors and purchasing from those vendors which fall within the guidelines for approved vendors set by management.

Primary Duties include:

  • Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing operations, including processing of user requisitions, research and selection of potential suppliers, negotiation of pricing and terms and issuance of purchase orders. Responsible for placing, tracking and expediting all purchase orders.
  • Establish the district's general purchasing policy in collaboration with the management. Coordinate activities of materials procurement, purchasing, planning inventory management and customer service.
  • Create and maintain good relationships with suppliers to encourage win-win negotiations and decisions. Proactively manage supplier relationships. Identify and develop ideal supplier network.
  • Keep informed of current market conditions by interviews with vendors, and relay relevant information along to management. Perform market analysis to identify supply/demand trends and opportunities.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory level to fill customer orders complete with no back orders in designated locations, work to reduce stagnant inventory.
  • Operate within the general framework presented by management.
  • Look for opportunities in vertical and horizontal markets.
  • Supervise the maintenance of a complete catalog file for all materials purchased.
  • Responsible for expediting of stock and special orders with personnel.
  • Supervise purchasing employees within the district and ensure personnel carry out their responsibilities and meet company objectives.     
  • Responsible for negotiating the return, or disposal, of obsolete overstocked, and slow moving products. As well as managing the following processes:

            --Non-Conforming Goods        --Defectives

            --Consigned Inventories       --Customer Supplied Product

  • Create and adhere to a monthly purchasing schedule.
  • Maintain a level of inventory to achieve a sufficient turn and earn, as set by management.
  • Attend training sessions on current and new methods of purchasing and inventory control.
  • Drive system support tailored to the needs of the district.

 

 

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years purchasing experience in Electrical Distribution or related industry preferred, but not required.

  • Excellent communication, math, computer, leadership and management skills.
