Glens Falls Hospital is seeking a self-directed, team-oriented, and goal driven Director, Emergency Care Services. Reporting directly to the newly appointed Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Beverley Rankin, RN, BSN, MSA, NEA-BC, the Director, Emergency Care Services is accountable and responsible for all aspects of Emergency Department operations. The incumbent will play a key role in helping to further achieve and sustain the highest quality emergency services care in a clinically and fiscally accountable manner. The primary responsibility of the Director, Emergency Services Care will be the continuous improvement in the quality of patient care, the patient care experience, and the level of nursing practice.
Requirements for this position include: A registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a Master’s degree in either Nursing, or a related field, required; minimum three years experience in an emergency services leadership role required. The successful candidate will have the knowledge and ability to apply current leadership theory and continuous improvement principles in an adaptable fashion that promotes staff collaboration and engagement. Incumbent must possess exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively on sensitive and complex issues. Conflict resolution skills, the ability to deal with diverse issues, a solid background in emergency services, and responsiveness to changing needs are all essential.
