Information Technology Construction Manager

Our client, in the Chattanooga area is looking to fill the role of a Information Technology Construction Manager on a contractual basis. Below is a detailed job description along with specific requirements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure implementation and managing IT trades.  i.e. cabling, networking, conduit etc
• Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic thinking to bring the Plant online and to manage and maintain the implementation of the IT Infrastructure.
• Communication skills – interpersonal, management presentation and written skills and negotiating with other trades
• Technology – skilled in the implementation of IT Infrastructure in a construction facility
• Integration – joining people, processes and systems together to deliver IT services
• Influencing and negotiation skills.  Managing multiple IT service providers
• Problem solving.  Being able to solve complex IT problems effectively and efficiently
• Excellent understanding of project management principles

Extreme flexibility required with the ramp up of the plant computing infrastructure will require flexible work hours including nights and weekends.

Role Responsibility

Manage the implementation of IT Computing Infrastructure at the new Chattanooga Plant.  Remain within budget as established by ITP for the implementation of the IT environment.  Directs and oversees IT Trades implementing the Chattanooga Plant’s IT infrastructure while monitoring quality and project timelines

• Responsible for determining managing IT Trades during the installation of the IT Infrastructure
• Directs and oversees operational aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure installation
• Reports progress back to ITP PMO Office
• Ensure alignment to VW established standards as set forth in the RFP
• Manage IT infrastructure implementation towards increasing productivity
