Description
The Assistant Sales Manager partners with the store Sales Manager to oversee, manage, coordinate, and provide hands on leadership for sales related areas to ensure we meet or exceed the company’s goals, objectives and standards. These goals and standards include, but are not limited to, developing and maintaining a top sales team as well as creating a unique selling culture that drives profitable sales. You will work with the Sales Manager to meet or exceed store sales projections, select, hire, train, develop and manage quality sales associates. You must oversee the training and development of your sales team to exceed our guests’ expectations, driving customer retention, average sale and repeat purchases. You will utilize various company techniques coupled with your own background and skills to develop plans with the Sales Manager for all of the above. While you are responsible to assist all sales associates of the store, you directly manage a team of commission sales associates.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitors daily, weekly and monthly sales team results and builds realistic plans to address with team
2. Monitors and approves team selling process by ensuring sales associates are matched appropriately with customers and provides “on the spot" coaching to help close sales
3. Reviews daily sales results with associates and coaches to improve next day performance; updates leadership on progress
4. Identifies and implements the training needed for sales team and conducts new hire training when appropriate
5. Partners with Sales Manager to plan and execute effective sales meetings; ensures they are interactive, motivating and informative
