Description

Mass. Electric Construction Co. is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation and part of Kiewit’s Eastern District. With offices located in New York City, we are uniquely qualified to provide the highest standards of electrical construction for any size project. We provide design-build, budgeting, value engineering and maintenance services for a wide array of commercial/industrial customers.


Mass. Electric Construction Company in New York City is seeking a Traction Power Service Engineer that shall be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York.  

 

The Traction Power Engineer shall perform the following work and be responsible for:

 

a)    Checking existing drawings for accuracy.

 

b)    Directing the installation and removal of power equipment and circuit changes to the control and supervisory systems as required by the Engineer on a day to day basis.

 

c)    Checking the installation of the equipment and make all necessary adjustments prior to placing the equipment in service.

 

d)    Performing all pre-commissioning testing required by the Engineer

 

e)    Performing all work required during testing for acceptance

 

f)     Working on the traction power equipment including all assembling and adjustments.

 

g)    Review shop and vendor design drawings for spec compliance technical accuracy and constructability

Requirements

Requirements:



1.    Individual must be capable of reviewing installation shop drawings for technical accuracy, constructability, and specification compliance,  signing and stamping drawings with New York State Professional Engineer for submittal to owner.



2.    Must be well versed in national electrical code and capable of obtaining an electrical license in the State of NY.



3.    Requires experience in the rapid transit electrification or in power utility industry, control circuits inspection and operation and have the ability to plan, direct necessary circuit and equipment changes and coordinate various phases of the work under this Contract.  Shall reside no more than fifty (50) miles from New York City.
