Neustar (NYSE: NSR) provides the North American communications industry with essential clearinghouse services. We operate the authoritative directories that manage virtually all telephone area codes and numbers, and enable the dynamic routing of calls among thousands of competing communications service providers (CSPs) in the United States and Canada. All telecommunications service providers (TSPs), as well as  CSPs that offer telecommunications services to the public at large, must access our clearinghouse as one of our customers to properly route virtually all of their calls. We also provide clearinghouse services to emerging CSPs, including Internet service providers, cable television operators, and voice over Internet protocol, or VoIP, service providers. In addition, we manage the authoritative directories for the .us and .biz Internet domains, as well as for Common Short Codes, part of the short messaging service, or SMS, relied upon by the U.S. wireless industry.

Legal Compliance Analyst-Multiple Openings

Under general supervision reviews, validates and responds to various forms of lawful process in criminal investigations and civil proceeding, including subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants. Assist subscribers and work with law enforcement officials in connection with Annoyance and Harassing Calls incidents

Responsibilities:

  • Deals directly and regularly with law enforcement representatives and/or attorneys in connection with the lawful process. (25%)
  • Maintains files of pertinent documents, monitor case schedules and filing deadlines, and prepares pertinent standardized correspondence for law enforcement officials, attorneys and/or parties involved. (25%)
  • Retrieves the appropriate customer records and subscriber information, reviews records produced for accuracy, responsiveness, and completeness. (20%)
  • Transmits records to the law enforcement agency or attorney issuing the lawful process. (10%)
  • Fields Annoyance & Harassing Calls matters and resolves trouble tickets in a timely manner. (10%)
  • Provides systematic analysis on existing processes and propose suggestions to improve efficiency. (5%)
  • Provide 24 hour on-call support for law enforcement emergency Records Production circumstances on a rotating basis. (5%)

 

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.  Paralegal certification.

Minimum of 3 years experience

  • Experience in telecom industry. 
  •  Strong customer focus. 
  • Excellent communication & analytical skills.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on industry standards, personal experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works well under pressure, exercise good judgment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Familiarity with web based GUI applications.
  • Familiarity with carrier billing system.
  • Ability to compile and maintain complex and extensive records
