Production Manager

My world class chemical company is a global leader in their specialty product niche. I am recruiting a Production Manager for one of their key manufacturing sites in the US. This site continues to grow as the company is adding production capacity and an additional production shift. It is a 5 day a week operation and a fairly automated chemical mixing/blending plant with high speed packaging and palletization processes. I’m looking for a hands-on Production Manager who will lead the production team in coordination with the purchasing, logistics, and maintenance departments to achieve operational objectives. This will include creating and managing daily production schedules, managing the raw material inventory process, continuously measuring and improving operational efficiency, and developing the production team to achieve world-class standards.

Using such concepts as Six Sigma, SPC, and/or lean manufacturing will be important to successfully and continuously improve production. This role will have a key impact on plant profitability and this position affords excellent career growth opportunities within this global company.

Must have experience in a production supervisory role at a manufacturing plant in the chemical industry or related industries such as specialty materials, pharmaceuticals or pulp & paper. Experience with batch processing, and blending/mixing processes is important and experience at a PSM facility is a plus. Proven track record in making significant improvements through a production team and ability to drive change is important. Training in Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing concepts and their implementation to drive production improvements is preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations is required. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills and excellent communication skills.
