Responsibilities of Occupational Therapist - Home Health Includes:


As a Occupational Therapist at Amedisys you will:

• Evaluate and treat patients using the most current technology and practices
• Provide valuable input into the patient’s care and care treatment
• Observe, record and report the patient’s response to treatment and any change in the patient’s condition
• Be provided with a consistent case load
• Spend more time working with patients and making a significant difference in their lives
• Understand, observe, and assess the patient’s home environment for hazards and functionality.
• Manage and educate the Occupational Therapist Assistants’ performance in implementing occupational therapy services.
• Gain quality experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team and personal patient interaction.
• Have flexibility in your work schedule and autonomy in patient assessment

• Successful completion of an occupational therapy program at a school of occupational therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association or the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of American Medical Association or the committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association.
• Current and unencumbered license to practice occupational therapy specific to that state the employee is assigned to work by the Company.
• One (1) year of occupational therapy experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, usernames and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files, and windows
• Effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars
• Ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs

• The occupational therapist shall be currently licensed in the state, pursuant to Chapter 468,F.S., with one year of experience in occupational therapy.

• NAC 449.788 Services to patients.
• Services must be supplied only by qualified personnel and under the supervision of a physician licensed to practice in this State.
• Qualifications include licensure, registration, certification or their equivalent, as required by state or federal law, for…(e)
• The occupational therapist must meet the requirements of the American Occupational Therapy Association or the equivalent thereof.

• HFS 133.02 Definitions:
• “Occupational therapist" means someone who meets the requirements of s. HFS 105.28.
