Description
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – The financial analyst is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of work papers and analyses relating to the financial statements and operations of the company.
DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Determining and devising data survey collection, research techniques, data interpretation, and analytical methodology to use for analysis purposes.
2. Utilizing statistical, economic, and financial principles and techniques to prepare reports.
3. Monitoring and reporting historical trends.
4. Assisting in balancing, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and preparing audit work papers, when requested.
5. Ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness to meet specified deadlines.
6. Ability to Maintain multiple general ledgers if requested
7. Review monthly journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations as required to accurately close the monthly fiscal period., when requested.
8. Review monthly reports for key indicators and statistics.
9. Performing a monthly audit of all Balance Sheet accounts, when requested.
10. Preparing budgets and analyzing budget variances.
11. Preparing Proformas for new and existing physicians.
12. Overseeing special projects as assigned.
13. Performing other related duties as required.
14. Assist in the development, documentation and implementation of departmental accounting standards.
15. Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct" philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement".
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - This position requires the following minimum requirements:
1. Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices sufficient to identify and describe accounting systems and sub-systems
2. Knowledge of the financial accounting process
3. Knowledge of research techniques to analyze and evaluate financial data and information
4. Knowledge of accounting information systems
5. High Proficiency with PC-based spreadsheet and word processing programs
6. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational goals
7. Skill in identifying and resolving problems
8. Effective organizational skills
9. Ability to identify and delegate work appropriately
10. Ability to analyze financial reports
11. Ability to prepare statistical and narrative accounting reports
12. Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately
13. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
14. Ability to work well with others
15. Ability to organize work independently and consistently achieve reporting deadlines
16. Ability to interact with other individuals at all levels of management
EDUCATION - Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in accounting or other business–related field.
EXPERIENCE – Five years of progressive accounting or financial analyst experience, including one year of supervisory experience. Preferably in a physician practice management or healthcare-related environment.
