Summary
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Information Technology Services at the Glendale Campus. This position will offer direct support to the Telecommunications and Networking areas of the department. The individual is responsible for a wide range of activities related to the stable and efficient operation of the network infrastructure on which the University depends. The individual’s focus is on day-to-day tasks encompassing data and voice networks, wired and wireless technology, expansion projects, and first-level problem investigation.

Excellent understanding of basic telecommunication and networking concepts such as TCP/IP and other routing protocols, network cable types, network topologies, and basic principles and terminology used in the network planning, installation and monitoring
Other Qualifications:
Must be able to work in a quiet environment, learn detailed procedures, and handle a reasonable amount of stress.
Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, technical, and organizational skills required.
Education and/or Experience:
High school graduate or GED required. BS or BA in Computer Science or a related area is highly preferred. Three or more years experience in a telecommunication and networking technology support highly preferred. Working experience supporting faculty in a higher education environment highly desirable.
