                          STATE OF CONNECTICUT JUDICIAL BRANCH

         BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST I/II - QUALITY ASSURANCE

 

            The CT Judicial Branch Information Technology Division is seeking a Business Process Analyst with a solid understanding of quality assurance work.  The successful applicant will: verify business requirements and specifications, develop formal test plans and test cases; provide estimates for quality assurance effort on projects; participate in walkthroughs and provide feedback on quality requirements; perform manual testing for integrated web and mainframe applications, as well as scanning and client server applications; track, assign, and monitor defects and defect correction working with Project Manager, end users, and developers; prioritize defects, work with users to develop workarounds where necessary; facilitate the completion of test plans and the testing process to meet project deadlines; participate in the development of an end to end quality product.  The ideal candidate will have the following qualities: strong organizational skills; experience with relational databases; ability to write SQL queries for database verification; experience with testing web applications including integration with legacy systems; experience writing test plans and creating test scripts; experience verifying business requirements; proven ability to meet deadlines, set individual priorities and be self-directed; proven ability to be an effective member of a cross-functional team;  strong written and verbal communications; strong interpersonal skills and customer focus; ability to communicate at many levels with both business and technical personnel; flexibility in applying best practices from both Agile and standard development processes to meet business needs.

Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Six years of experience in a combination of data processing systems development and project planning for the Level I position and eight years of experience in a combination of data processing systems development and project planning for the Level II position.  College training in MIS or a related field may be substituted for the experience to a maximum of four years for a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one additional year of the experience for either Level I or II. CSTE or CSQA certifications a plus. Experience with automated testing tools like Selenium a plus.  Experience with test driven development a plus.  Experience with VSTS a plus.  In-state travel required.
