Description We are currently searching for an experienced Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer for one of the country's leading consulting engineering firms.  This person will provide supervision for preparation of plumbing and HVAC system design drawings and specifications for new construction, existing facilities expansion, and renovation projects.    Projects will be of moderate to high complexity.    Responsible for applying engineering fundamentals to designs of mechanical systems.    Responsible for financial success of projects based upon mutually agreed fee structures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•         Obtains architectural, civil, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical data from documents, occupant interviews, and field measurements.
•         Communication with internal staff, clients, and other consultants / disciplines.
•         Coordinates and oversees preparation of floor plans, site plans, and other drawings for complex structures.
•         Compiles specifications and contract documents.
•         Performs field review of existing facilities to determine and verify relevant services and site layout, and to coordinate construction with plans and specifications.
•         Responsible for overall system design, sizing and layout, selection of components for systems, plumbing and / or HVAC design.
•         Responsible for preparation of cost estimates and in coordination of construction and renovation projects.
•         Understands AutoCAD concepts.
•         Mentor / train less experienced staff.
•         Conflict resolution with internal staff, clients, and other consultants / disciplines.
•         Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 •        Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience.

•        Must be a registered Professional Engineer
•        Proven ability to perform the duties specified with prior project experience at an equivalent level of responsibility.   
•        Must have a minimum of ten years experience
***Must have experience with Chilled Beam or Underfloor Air Distribution***

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
•         Ability to design, coordinate and manage projects.
•         Ability to collect field data and accurately record findings.
•         Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to design of HVAC / plumbing systems.
•         Ability to oversee preparation of floor, site, and other architectural plans.
•         Skill in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and project financial software.
•         Ability to perform field review and make necessary adjustments to conform to job specifications.
•         Ability to perform system design functions.
•         Thorough knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
