Description

This Sheboygan Press is seeking a full-time reporter who will write stories and gather information for the newspaper, the Web site (www.Sheboygan-press.com) and our array of magazines and related publications.

The right candidate for this position will be able to write accurate stories on deadline that inform and engage time-starved readers. A reporter must be able to develop sources and enterprise stories; cover breaking news and meetings; and write for the growing audience of readers on the Web.

Candidates should be ready to gather and report information through a variety of sources and technology, including audio and video, to meet the needs of today’s readers. An understanding of database searches and software is important, and the right candidate will be passionate about connecting with readers through local stories.

Requirements A reporter must be: detail oriented; possess strong organizational and time-management skills; able to meet deadlines; handle multiple assignments; and embrace the paper’s commitment to local news. Knowledge of basic software programs and e-mail is critical, and knowledge of other software is a plus.
