Description On Assignment Lab Support is currently recruiting a Chemistry Technician to work with our client in the Charlestown, Indiana area. This position is expected to be a contract to hire opportunity and is available immediately.

The overall function of the position is performing chemical testing on waste products to determine compliance.

Essential Job Functions include:

Perform BTU, oxidations, ph, bsew tests on various hazardous and non-hazardous materials

Analyze ER samples, including flash, heat of compression, specific gravity, halogen, reactivity screen, oxidize screen, color and smell.

Ensure compliance with the Laboratory Accreditation and all regulatory requirements.

Prepare and maintain chemical solutions to perform required lab analysis.

Keep lab and equipment in good operating condition.

Maintain records of all lab analysis, enters data into computerized data management system

Notify supervisor of any test results that indicate a problem, and reports any problems and/or failures of equipment.

Monitor supplies, request orders of chemical and equipment

Comply with all safety measures and procedures at all times.
Requirements Essential Skills & Experience include:


1. Associate of Science Degree in Chemistry, biology, or environmental science.

2. Two year’s experience in an environmental laboratory or any combination of experience and education which provides the desired skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the work.

3. Working knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, laboratory procedures, sampling procedures, and instrumentation used in environmental analysis

4. Working knowledge of laboratory safety and quality control procedures.

5. Ability to prepare clear and concise technical reports.

6. Ability to conduct laboratory analysis with reliable results.

7. Must possess the ability to read, write in English, perform mathematical calculations accurately and legibly complete required paperwork to include laboratory analysis reports and Quality Control notebooks.

8. Must possess good oral communication skills, and be able to follow instructions and take direction by various means of communication.

9. Training related to safety and health in compliance with OSHA and company policies, environmental compliance with EPA standards

10. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as accept direction on given assignments.
