Description
Currently we are searching for a Business Analyst for one of our clients in the Hartford, CT area. This opportunity is a longterm contract opportunity!
The Business Analysts' duties are as follows:
Duties:
- Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
- Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
- Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.
- Guides and advises less experienced Business Analysts. Highly skilled.
- Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.

Requirements
Skills:
- Proven ability to create and execute business specifications, acceptance testing, and production implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage small to large scale projects and ability to bring these projects in on time and within budget to meet the project objectives.
- Strong team player with the ability to juggle work and multitask, excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
- Strong managed care background preferred and knowledge of data warehousing and medical management data.
- Working knowledge in one or more of the following systems; TDS, P-MHS, Proclaim, CED, CPF, CDB, Pharmacy, HCE DM, IM Finance Marts, UM DM, Clinical Lab Database.
- Demonstrated working knowledge in Mainframe DB2 +/or Client Server toolsets such as: FileAid, QMF, FOCUS, EASYTRIEVE, Access, COGNOS, SAS.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least four, typically six years of solid, diverse work experience in IT.
