We currently have an opening for a Quality Assurance Manager in our Clearwater, Florida location. The Manager of Quality Assurance provides hands on supervision of the manufacturing inspection and test functions. Directs and coordinates the activities of inspection personnel. Interacts directly with Operations in the accomplishment of product backlog, scheduling, and continuous improvement objectives in the manufacturing processes. Performs internal audits and acts as a point of contact for customer and second party audits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- ·Responsible for oversight of the Internal Audit and Corrective Action Programs, internal systems, process, and product audits as scheduled to ensure compliance with contractual ISO/AS9100 and FAA ACCEP requirements.
- Implementation of NADCAP for the Clearwater/ Sacramento facility.
- Responsible for duel-site maintenance of the ISO/AS9100 Standard Certificate.
- Designated duel-site ISO/AS9100 Management Representative
- Ensures AS9102 First Article Inspection conformities are completed.
- Oversees conformity inspection, initiates action, monitors acceptable AQL levels.
- Manage work scheduling system that responds to priorities and daily requirements in each inspection and location.
- Initiates cross-training and initial training programs that encompass all aspects of the manufacturing inspection functions to expand and improve coverage and personnel qualifications.
- Responsible for customer field escapes and Supplier Corrective Action Programs.
- Responsible for monthly metric output and continuous improvement activities
- Customer Liaison for key customer Source Inspection requirements.
- Establishes effective lines of communication and feedback with respective FAA Manufacturing oversight agencies.
- Working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR).
- Establishes effective lines of communication and feedback with Value Stream Operations Team Leads, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that adversely affect product quality.
- Develops and maintains employee development participation programs that achieve the individuals’ potential and added value to the organization.
- Coordinate and manage due-site MRB activities.
- Adhere to all AAR Composites Safety Procedures and Safety Accountabilities (Ref. SP-011).
- Hosts second and third party audit activity
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the Quality Management System, direct and non-direct reports. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with management instructions, the organization’s policies and applicable regulatory and state agency laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems, and department budget.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree in Business or related discipline.
- Five years aerospace experience as a Quality Assurance Manager in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of NADCAP special processes required
- Proficient Blueprint reading required
- Working knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR).
- Inspection planning (e.g. sequence, priorities, interpretation of plan).
- ASQ CQA/CQE/CQM certifications a plus. CQA required or achieve within six months.
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance knowledge preferred
- Six sigma or lean experience.
- Working knowledge in maintenance of Calibration Database.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with Oracle a plus.
