Description

Jewish Hospital Coder/Abstractor Level III- Remote Coding Option Available

Full Time- 40 hours per week – 1^st shift

This position evaluates inpatient and outpatient records to assign correct ICD-9-CM and CPT diagnosis and procedure codes in order to assign DRGs, APCs, and ASCs. Enters patient information into the system to facilitate research, billing, severity of illness, and other data collection. Acts as liaison with physicians, billing, admitting, and various other hospital departments.

Requirements Successful completion of formal education in basic ICD-9CM/CPT coding, medical terminology, anatomy/physiology and disease processes with a minimum of 3 years acute care coding experience with all coding including inpatient, ambulatory surgery and emergency.
