The Sarah Cannon Research Institute
The Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) is the largest community based cancer research program in the country.
We currently have an opening for a Budget Analyst
Analyzes, develops, negotiates and finalizes budgets and contracts for all phases of oncology clinical trials
- Creates new budgets in Excel based upon SCRI cost and charge information by analyzing each clinical trial protocol in order to provide a detailed counteroffer to the Sponsor's initial budget, while meeting established metrics surrounding each budget.
- Negotiates budgets with Sponsors/CROs on budget amounts and payment terms in order to result in a favorable overall budget for SCRI, and to establish business relationships for future negotiations.
- Proactively communicates and solicits input from clinical, management, Tennessee Oncology or other staff in order to receive timely clarification on protocol specifics, standard of care, billable items and other nuances affecting the budget.
- Attends protocol and budget review meetings and other pertinent meetings to solicit and share information.
- Collaborates with Contract Analyst to generate final contract for execution.
- Utilizes Siteminder system in order to assist with both historical and new study budget input into Siteminder.
- Serves as Site Liaison and point of contact for budget and contract issues for designated Strategic Sites.
- Maintains current and complete status of budget creation and negotiation in Salesforce system.
- Use reports from Salesforce to help manage follow-up priorities and to meet established metrics for budget and contract completion.
· Reviews and processes sponsor requests for designated budget amendments and tracks in Salesforce.
· Interfaces with finance team to understand the requirements and ramifications of budget design with study accrual and receivables.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES – This position requires the following minimal requirements:
· Financial analysis skills required.
· Excellent project management skills and analytical decision making skills are essential.
· Mastery skills in excel, access and/or other data management tools.
· Self-directed with ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
· Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and effectively.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE
· Experience in contracting and negotiation desired.
· Familiarity with clinical research and/or medical terminology preferred.
