Position Description
Performs project engineering work and leadership in support of new or current biomedical products. Work includes project engineering support for various phases of product life cycle. The scope of this position requires coordination with internal and external team members and customers as well as other strategic partners. Incumbents in this position are considered project leaders and have a complete understanding of technical principles. Responsibilities include leading both technical, non-technical and implementation teams.
Position Responsibilities
Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots, and provides technical oversight during product development.
Plans and manages work on product development projects, ensuring maximum productivity and cost-efficiency. Responsibilities include WBS definition, task identification, defining resource requirements, project scheduling, risk management, tracking and reporting.
Monitors, evaluates, and reports on progress and results of assigned projects.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
Minimum of 5 years engineering experience with at least 3 years of proven technical project management experience.
Experience in a regulated industry.
Experience working with project tools, such as MS Project.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Cross functional project management is highly desired.
PMI certification is highly desired.
Demonstrated ability to manage project scheduling and budgets.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
Experience in developing medical products or leading projects in a medical device company desired.
Experience with electronic product data management systems.
Experience with root cause or failure analysis.
Physical Job Requirements
Office environment with significant use of standard office equipment. May require minimal (<10%) travel.
