The Business Applications Manager position is responsible for the overall management of Business and Enterprise level applications through assisting other departments within the company in planning, designing, and implementing enhancements to business processes; deriving maximum benefit from existing systems and where necessary, the implementation of new technology.

 

Duties:

  • Analyzes Business Applications Team workflow and workers’ job duties, and effects appropriate team changes to ensure optimum performance.
  • Confirms quality standards and accuracy of programming products produced by the Business Application Analysts.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of developmental frameworks including; Microsoft .NET, Visual Studio, ABAP Workbench, Unix Scripting. Demonstrates knowledge of relational database design and management including Structured Query Language within SQL Server, DB2 and Informix.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of SAP R/3, BW, BI, and Netweaver related platforms.
  • Serves as Chairperson of the ERP Operating Committee with a team of Super Users and subject matter experts that manage and support SAP and related systems.
  • Works with business leaders to define business and technology requirements and ensure that technology enhancements are well suited to business needs.
  • Prepares project charters whereby the goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, organizational structure, staffing level, team organization, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure and deliverables are identified and defined.
  • Lead and support cross-functional teams, organize teams into appropriate work groups and work closely with team leaders to support and guide the entire team in their effort to achieve its business goals and produce deliverables within the specified timeframes and financial constraints.
  • Consult with clients to analyze and understand functions to be automated, client needs, objectives, desired features, and input and output requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university and four years experience; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
