Charge Nurse RN

Padre Behavioral Hospital is a 68 bed free standing acute care psychiatric hospital located on a lovely 15 acre campus with both inpatient and outpatient services.  Padre is JCAHO accredited and provides services to children, adolescents, adult psychiatric and chemical dependence patients. 

We have immediate needs for full-time RNs to work in Charge Nurse positions to provide optimum healthcare to our patients.  The Charge Nurse is a key member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and works closely with physicians, pharmacist and clinical services.  This position oversees unit nursing staff which consists of a dedicated team of mental health technicians and LVN staff. 

Padre Behavioral Hospital has a small hospital environment with a close-knit team which is charged with providing the maximum patient benefit for each patient hospital stay.  Shifts are 12 hours, with day, night and week-end shifts available.  Each population is supported with Unit Supervisors who provide an additional layer of assistance.

• Current Texas RN's license required.
• Two years experience as a licensed RN required.
• Psych Inpatient experience preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate sound leadership and organizational required.
• Ability to perform interventions as required for behavioral healthcare.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology associated with psychiatric and behavioral care required.
• CPR certification required.
