Description Systems Administrator - Los Gatos, CA - Night Shift

Our client, a growing trading organization, has a need for a full-time Systems Administrator with Linux and Windows experience for their night shift 3pm - 11pm Sunday through Thursday. The Los Gatos, CA office is still being built, so for the first few months you can work out of the Chicago, IL or Honolulu, HI office. This is a great opportunity to join a department where you will wear many hats and gain exposure to a variety of areas. Our client offers a competitive salary and bonus potential.

Responsibilities of the position include: diagnosing system problems, deployment of new systems, and performing OS and application upgrades on existing systems. The Systems Administrator will handle configurations, installations, monitoring, testing and support of their Linux / Windows systems. The candidate should have solid troubleshooting skills, as the position requires one to perform systems troubleshooting and system optimization on a daily basis. Although not essential, familiarity with financial markets is highly desirable, and the candidate will be expected to gain new financial knowledge as needed.

Requirements * 2+ years of experience with Linux and Windows Systems Administration, including configuration, installation, maintenance, performance, and problem management.
* Solid troubleshooting skills.
* Proficient with scripting languages (i.e. Perl, UNIX Shell, awk, etc.).
* Experience with security implementation and LDAP.
* Solaris and Cisco knowledge is a plus.
* Trading industry experience is a plus.
* Bachelors Degree and certifications are preferred.
