Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Absence management specialist is responsible for assigned caseload of FMLA and integrated FMLA and disability cases.

  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The primary responsibility of the Absence Management Specialist will be interacting with internal and external customers including, but not limited to, claimants, employers and physicians to gather the information to make the decision on the eligibility, job protection and benefits. They will also provide technical direction to other claims personnel as needed and proactively manages absence details and monitors payment accuracy and timeliness to closure.

  

  

 

Requirements

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.
  •  At least 1-2 years of experience directly administering STD or FMLA leaves.
  • Strong PC and typing skills required.
  • Demonstrated analytical and math skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.  
  • High level of flexibility to adapt to the needs of the organization.

  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven skills in positive and effective interaction with challenging customers.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
