Description

Main Duties/Function:
1. Provide users of assigned products with timely, fact-based, professional Procurement support on day-to-day supplies related issues.

2. Identify opportunities to improve quality, service and margin through better acquisition of purchased resources within assigned scope, through quantitative analysis of current purchases and potential new products and services.  Be accountable for driving that improvement.

3. Manage and develop assigned team of Sourcing Managers.  Responsible for allocation of responsibilities amongst the team, collaboration in complex negotiations, motivation and retention, resource provision and performance management.

4. Negotiate and assist in the implementation of contracts that provide improved value (quality, service, cost) .  Provide economic analysis to support implementation.

5. Develop and implement annual performance plans for each supplier under management.

6. Collaborate with all Corporate and Business Unit staff to ensure that all BUs are in conformance to initiatives and that status and savings are recorded correctly.

7. Build relationships with all assigned users to ensure that rigorous purchasing policies are understood and implemented.

8. Lead or assist with other Procurement initiatives as may be assigned.

9. Contribute to the ongoing development of a world-class Procurement function.

Requirements

Required Experience:
At least 5 years experience in selection, implementation and management of Information Technology (IT) supplier contracts, with demonstrated results (cost, quality, service improvement).  Experience in managing complex, multi-functional projects.  Diagnostics industry experience highly desirable.

- Strong verbal and written communications skills,
- Ability to comfortably interface with all levels of management BA/BS in business, economics or a scientific discipline, or the equivalent in education and experience.  Advanced degree (MBA/MS) helpful.
