Agri-Business Underwriting Manager

Our client is a regional carrier with a long successful tradition in the Midwest and Western part of the US. They offer an excellent rating by AM Best. Currently they offer an opportunity to join their underwriting operation as an Agri-Business Underwriting Manager. This is a growing book of business so our client needs a visionary person to continue the drive.

Agri-Business Underwriting Manager responsibilities include:

Directs Regional Agri-Business Underwriting operations through delegation of authority to underwriting staff in accordance with established underwriting guidelines. Recruits, trains, mentors and manages the agri-business underwriting staff to ensure that profitability, growth, customer service, file quality and staff productivity objectives are met. Travels underwriting territory on a regular basis to enhance agency relationships, promote profitability and growth of new business and the retention of existing business.

Agri-Business Underwriting Manager qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or five years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In-depth knowledge of Commercial Agri-Business Insurance programs, policies, practices, coverages, forms, underwriting strategies. Working knowledge of and experience in reinsurance placements and procedures. Prior management experience preferred. Advanced insurance education highly desired, i.e., INS, AU, CPCU
