Job Title: System Administrator
Duration: Full Time/Regular

Pay: Commensurate with experience
Clearance: Must have a U.S. Government security clearance.
Description:
The primary duties of this position is to build operating systems (OS) and application servers and workstations to support Joint Warfighting Center (JWFC) modeling and simulation (M&S) systems used to conduct joint training at the operational level of war.
Candidate must be proficient in:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4
- Sun Solaris
- Windows 2000 and XP operating systems
Will be required to:
- Build and patch operating systems
- Perform system security lockdowns as required by JWFC ADP Security Officer to include troubleshooting and isolation of problems that are created during installation
- Assist in isolation and troubleshooting of operating systems, installing applications, and providing solutions to operational problems
- Builds, operates and manages mail, web and data file severs used during training exercises and events at JWFC
- Candidate may be required to write procedures and programs to automate repetitive processes
- Need to be capable of compiling and installing applications required by the customer
Requirements
Required Skills:
Must have 2 years experience with:
- Samba
- NIS
- DNS
- network file systems
- web and mail servers
Candidate needs experience with:
- The creation and maintenance of user accounts to include the limitation of capability and access
- Network security to include firewalls and virus protection software
- Resolution of problems related to hardware and software, both application and operating systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with the installation and management of Oracle (Version 9 and 10.)
- Knowledge of modeling and simulations systems used by US military
- Experience with networks to include 10/100/1000 Ethernet, IP addressing schemes, and VLANs. Experience with DISA Gold Disk and STIGS.
- May be required to travel 10 to 20 percent.
Education:
Must have an Associates Degree with a concentration in Information Systems or 3 to 5 years of systems administration experience on at least two of the following computer operating systems:
- Linux (Red Hat Enterprise, SUSE, or Fedora)
- Windows
- Solaris
- UNIX or HP-UX.
