The mission of Big Bend Hospice is to provide compassionate care to individuals with a terminal illness, comfort to their families and emotional support to anyone who has lost a loved one. 
 

Our symbol, the oak tree, was designed by Bucky Hester, one of our first volunteers and later one of our patients. With deep roots for stability and spreading branches for shelter, the Big Bend Hospice tree provides a refuge for those embarking on the last part of life's journey.
 

Big Bend Hospice was established in 1983 by a dedicated group of local community volunteers seeking a more dignified, compassionate and peaceful way to end life. Since that time we have grown to an organization with over 250 employees serving over 1400 families each year.

We are currently seeking a Chaplain - PRN:

•  PRN position will support and advocate access to care for all patients and families facing terminal illness. Chaplains as pastoral care case manager will facilitate patient and family connections with appropriate spiritual care through pastoral intervention and connection with resources in the community as requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Master's Degree in divinity.
• CPE preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Chaplain or spiritual care experience in hospice or hospital setting is preferred. 
• Three or more years of pastoral experience or hospice chaplain experience.
• Must have skills in communication, cooperation and compassion with patients and families, with the team, other clergy and congregations.
