Description

Our client is a leader in supplying the automotive industry. The successful candidate must have experience in Tire and Wheel Assembly and have a strong background in Logistics/ Supply Chain from within the industry.

  

  

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

As Logistics Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall and specific performance of the Supply Chain interface in the support and development of tire and wheel programs.  These responsibilities include meeting and exceeding service performance, quality specifications, inventory coordination & accuracy, and cost control while contributing to the attainment of the sales budget for these projects.

 

In addition, you will

 

  • Meet customer needs while satisfying company objectives.  Develop procedures, establish standards, audit compliance and administer activities to assure the timely delivery of product to customers and effective response to customer requests, issues, and requirements.
  • Test operational feasibility and evaluate new business opportunities, designing effective, quality operations.
  • Develop measurement and benchmarking processes for all special programs and operations.
  • Develop and implement operational improvements to meet cost, safety, training, quality, and service goals.
  • Collaborate with Inventory and forecasting groups to manage flow of materials meet cost objectives and meet customer demand. 

·         Develop monthly operational P & L for new programs. Track & measure profitability of individual programs and recommend steps to improve performance.

·         Acts as a liaison between Program Management, warehouses, sales associates, and top management to ensure adherence to program goals and objectives.

·         Negotiate and design equipment needs, testing equipment, testing procedures, training and inspection programs to support all program objectives.

  • Identify and resolve quality and operational issues in conjunction with internal groups and or OEMs.
  • Partner with OEM’s and internal groups to determine compliance to procedure requirements and OEM specs.
  • Conduct periodic internal audits at all assembly production lines to assure compliance to SOP’s.
  • Provide job instructions and training to team leads and assembly line associates on new specs or when requirements changes

 

 

 

 

Requirements

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

 

  

·         At least five years Supply Chain experience in multi-site warehouse/manufacturing operations or equivalent experience or training. 

·         At least three years experience developing and implementing successful tire and wheel programs.

·         Experience with manufacturing and assembly processes.

·         Experience setting standards, writing SOPS, lean, 5S, six sigma, ISO

·         Strong systems experience.  Experience setting up and managing BOMs, work orders

·         Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Logistics, or related field.  Masters degree preferred.

·         Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills.

·         Ability to develop effective relationships, provides leadership, and integrates diverse organizations and individuals towards objectives.

·         Experience and familiarity with launching and utilizing ERP systems.

·         Experience leading project teams.

·         Efficiency in all Microsoft Office products.

 

 

 

 

COMPENSATION

 

Excellent package includes a base of $75-95 plus a bonus , 401K plan, outstanding medical , relocation and other benefits.
