Description
This position reports to the Vice President Finance, CFO at NIBCO's World Headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana.
This position directs the company's accounting practices, the maintenance of its financial records and the preparation of its financial statements. Supervises activities of the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable/cash application functions.
Candidates must have excellent leadership skills. Significant interaction within the Accounting Department as well as other functional areas will require individual with superior communication skills and a team-oriented approach. Ability to comprehend complex accounting / financial matters and effectively communicate them to peers and subordinates is a job requirement.
Some travel required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and minimum of five (5) years experience as Controller or similar capacity. Public accounting experience and CPA certification required. SAP and manufacturing experience a plus.
Requirements
Produce timely and accurate internal financial statements to management and external organizations.
Author annual and quarterly reports to shareholders.
Coordinates all activities of independent public accountants and other third parties in need of financial information.
Develops and maintains corporate financial policies to ensure effective financial controls and safeguard corporate assets.
Maintain an understanding of current and proposed accounting regulations, governmental policies and other standards and rules. Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and rules.
Oversee policies related to periodic cycle-counting of inventory and physical verification of plant, property and equipment to ensure accuracy of asset reporting.
