Description

Dynamic and growing HVAC Company is seeking a highly motivated Service Manager.  The Service Manager is responsible for the supervision of all installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units and associated air handling, chilled water distribution, and environmental control systems. Also, coordinates, directs, and supervises all other employees within this department. 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the service department’s function and performance
  • Perform all business operations including sales, marketing, reviewing the department’s financial statements, budgets, employee management and training of service and office staff
  • Confers with upper management to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
  • Supervision of all service field and office personnel
  • Maintaining a quality field staff that meets and exceeds training standards outlined by the manufacturer
  • Recruiting, hiring and training quality people in all positions
  • Prepare long range forecasting to determine the overall needs of the Service Department
  • Develop yearly operational budget and analyze P & L statements
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the department
  • Holding and conducting meetings with your office staff and supervisors
  • Providing exceptional customer service by listening to customer concerns, asking the appropriate questions, and providing a proper trained staff to handle customers
  • Creating and implementing a sales marketing plan that will assure that the Service Department is aggressively seeking new customers and new market opportunities
  • Provide technical/professional advice and knowledge to others within the various areas
  • Receives oral or written work requests, and sets priorities.
  • Meeting departmental production objectives

 

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Thorough knowledge of heating, ventilation and refrigeration
  • Must be HVAC Certified
  • 10 plus years experience in HVAC Field Management
  • Proven ability to create and implement operational procedures
  • Considerable knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment
  • Ability to multi-task with great organizational skills, great written and verbal communication skills and exceptional leadership skills
  • Ability to train and supervise others
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical.
  • Considerable experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of HVAC and related environmental control systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
