Description

The Preoperative Registered Nurse is responsible for preparing the in-patient pre-operatively for surgery, these duties encompass assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Preoperative Registered Nurse documents findings, gathers information, reports findings, and provides comfort measures as appropriate to the care of the adolescent (ages 12-18), adult (ages 19-65), and geriatric (ages 66 and over) patients. Teaching the patient and family as appropriate, depending upon the patient’s condition and circumstances..

Requirements

EDUCATION & TRAINING: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, in addition,

                                                either Surgery or Critical Care experience. ACLS preferred.

EXPERIENCE:  Two (2) years of experience in the OR required. Ability to scrub and circulate preferred.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION: Registered Nurse in the State of Kentucky. CPR required and

                                                    ACLS required within one (1) year of accepting position.
