Description POSITION SUMMARY:
The Store LP Leader is responsible for tasks and duties required to protect ShopKo assets at an assigned store. These assets include the facility and equipment, cash, merchandise and the safety of teammates and customers. Assists the Store Management in training and communicating loss prevention processes and policies to all teammates.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the execution and implementation of shrink reduction programs through proactive planning and monitoring loss exposures. Monitors closed circuit monitors to reduce external losses. As necessary involves local authorities and writes investigation reports.
Reduces theft loss through effective and successful internal and external theft investigations involving cash and merchandise; contacts appropriate internal and external parties regarding all reportable incidents.
Completes Loss Prevention administrative duties involving audits and inspections relating to the physical building security, merchandise/cash protection and customer/teammate safety.
Provides Loss Prevention awareness and training to all store teammates through effective communication. Participates in leadership meetings, and reports on trends in store operations to store leadership.

Requirements

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be 18 years or older (state requirement).
2. Must have experience in retail loss prevention; including coursework in Criminal Justice, Police Science or Security Administration or equivalent experience.
3. High school equivalent reading and math skills.
4. Must demonstrate strong leadership skills to communicate and implement programs and handling critical loss investigations.
5. Requires effective decision making skills for handling customer and teammate problems.
6. Must demonstrate an exemplary commitment to provide exceptional customer service.
7. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Requires ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
9. Must exhibit highest level of integrity and ethical standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to sit and move around sales and stock room floors for extended periods.
2. Must demonstrate physical agility (bending, twisting, reaching).
3. Must be available to work days, nights and weekends.
4. Requires ability to travel independently to various locations in the community as well as occasional overnight travel.
5. Requires ability to install, set up and monitor surveillance equipment.
