Job Summary:

The initial focus of this position serves as an analyst, working with the manager to ensure success of online negotiations.  As a member of this team primary accountability will be to support the overall set up and running of the e-negotiations, and working with the auction manager to obtain needed data analysis for the auctions and RFx negotiations. This will include organizing and assembling information pertaining to the daily duties of online negotiations. This position reports to the Manager of e-Sourcing. 

Serves as analyst working with respective business owners to review items for auctions and RFx’s and assist in the scheduling process (total of ~50-75+ projects per year with potential concurrent 10-12 projects at one time).  Interacts with virtually all areas of the organization and all support levels for 20+ SHC Business Units.

    Strong financial skills and Excel skills preferred


 

Responsibilities:

• Serves as analyst to the auction team by supporting  the managers to review items and category schedules for structured online negotiations

• Assists in compiling and organizing information for the business owner pertaining to the negotiations

• Compiles and presents results from participating suppliers through the sourcing tool

• Coordinates the process with the buyer/business owners for collecting the data collections sheets

•  Monitors and administrates live auctions and acts as supplier interface during the events

• Owns the vendor training process with respect to the on-line sourcing/auction tool.

• Serves as the coordinator to the buying organization by working with the buyers to review and ensure the overall accuracy of the data related to the negotiations (suppliers, baseline pricing, inventory, finance, QA, legal, product and packaging specifications, etc.)

• Creates post-auction reporting and analysis for buyers

• Provides weekly status updates to the Director during the team meetings.

–         Project Oversight (responsible for driving projects to completion with analysts)

–         Reporting Oversight (management dashboard - creation and management)

–         Business Analysis (using resources to provide information to managers for strategic evaluation; i.e. SPRS, Merchant Workbench, Store Visits, etc)

–         Management Dashboard (monthly for BU’s to track performance)

–         Management (internal) – Coaching and Development for Analysts

–         Innovation Pipeline (evaluate and recommend best practices to Management, coordinating feedback from Analysts as appropriate)

–         Continuous Process Improvement (gather process improvement feedback from analysts and look for ways to implement new tools for time/project management, reporting, data gathering, etc.)

–         Structured Negotiation Execution (management of business partners during live events, fielding of questions, oversight of all sign-offs and creation of project updates, delay notifications and escalations to business partners)

–         Business Communication oversight (review and approving drafts of all business sign-offs related to auction projects, follow-up on approvals)

• 1-2 years of retail experience. i.e. merchandising, inventory/supply chain, marketing, store operations, and finance.

•  Must have experience with online negotiations and auctions
Must have experience working with vendors in a procurement arena and must have worked in a  retail enviornment

• Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

• Strong comfort level using Internet or other web-based tools

• Strong process, change management and risk management skills

 • Bachelor Degree in finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent.
