Travelers, a leading provider of Auto, Liability, Property and Workers Compensation Insurance seeks talented, committed, professional team players to join our exciting, fast moving and growing West Virginia claim organization located in Charleston.

Job Title:  Workers' Compensation Claim Representative
Location:  Charleston, WV

Duties and Responsibilities:

Make three point contact within 24 hours per Best Practice.
Establish file in system.  Initiate letters, state reporting forms and all necessary documents per state regulations.
Investigate and resolve all coverage issues.  Verify coverage through underwriting if necessary.
Conduct aggressive initial investigation in questionable claims.
Obtain statements from witnesses and employers when necessary to verify that the injury arose in the course and scope of employment.
Effectively manage overall payout by asserting right to pay of deny claim.
Work with defense counsel on cases involving litigation.
Aggressively manage inventory to ensure timely file closing, or timely reassignment if necessary.
If coverage and compensability are established, refer to Unit Manager for reassignment.

Requirements Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

College degree or equivalent job experience preferred.
Minimum of 2 years Workers¿ Compensation line of business experience preferred, but trainees welcome.
Strong knowledge of computer based applications including prior experience with T-Mate or similar systems.
Strong communication and customer service calls.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
