Bridge Design Engineer

Description Wilcox Professional Services, LLC is a national mutli-disciplinary engineering and design/build firm providing a wide range of services to the industrial, development, government and transportation market sectors.  We currently have an immediate opening for a Bridge Design Engineer in our Farmington Hills, Michigan location.  The position will be part of the Bridge Design Team which is responsible for the design of bridges, retaining walls and other transportation related projects.

This position involves the following duties and responsibilities:

• Design of bridges, retaining walls, and other structural components under of the supervision of a senior bridge designer.
• Preparation of calculations and drawings.
• Use of computer programs to model structural components.
• Checking of calculations, drawings and shop drawings.
• Calculation of quantities and developing cost estimates
• Writing of technical reports
• Effectively working as a member of a team

 

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree is required (BSCE); master's is preferred (MSCE).
• 2-5 years experience designing bridges is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MicroStation.
