Minimum Starting Salary: $3,767/monthly.

This position will provide career advising for the life science, health sciences, physical sciences, math, engineering majors and students considering these majors. The focus of this position will be on working with students individually and in group workshops to explore career options and create career development plans, administering and interpreting career assessments, preparing students for the job search process including preparing resumes, cover letters, handing a job interviews and conducting effective job searches. The advisor will be expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge and information about career options in the sciences, math, engineering and the health professions and also will provide advice about finding and applying to graduate programs in these academic disciplines. In addition, this position will provide advising for health careers and for entry into graduate and post baccalaureate health professional programs including medical school, pharmacy school, nursing programs, physical therapy, and other professional health programs.

Qualifications include:
•Experience conducting career-planning workshops, advising sessions and student career action plans.

•Multicultural competency and experience advising diverse groups of students and alumni.

•Experience working with, advising and anticipating the needs of undergraduate, graduate and post doc students.

•Oral and written communication skills including the ability to make effective group presentations, and to describe programs and provide information with clarity.

•Experience developing, coordinating, organizing, and planning projects/programs.
