Description Responsible for management of all sales related activities in assigned territory. Responsibilities include achievement of revenue quotas, total solution selling, and account management. Optimize selling efforts through a team-selling model.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Meet total revenue quota and individual product goals.
  2. Achieve guidelines for maintaining a high level of sales calls on a weekly and monthly basis.
  3. Balance sales activity and business across all markets within assigned area of responsibility.
  4. Obtain and master knowledge of all applicable Scantron education software products. This includes Achievement Series, Performance Series and Skills Connection. Be able to articulate the key features and benefits of each product and the needs they address in the K-12 market.
  5. Possess excellent Solution Selling Skills and demonstrate the ability to move prospects through each phase of the sales cycle. Utilize appropriate Needs Analysis skills before matching the Scantron products to a client's needs.
  6. Develop and implement action plans and sales strategies for maintaining and expanding revenue potential in existing accounts in assigned territory.  
  7. Develop and implement aggressive sales strategies for creating brand new revenue prospects.
  8. Exercise an appropriate level of contact with all key accounts, including those with highest revenue currently or with high revenue potential.
  9. Demonstrate proficiency using all Scantron administrative software programs including, but not limited to, Lotus Notes, and SalesLogix.
  10. Function in the capacity of a Team Leader. Provide assistance in the development of the Account Manager assigned to the team.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION:

  

 Education/Certification:

  • 4 year college degree

  

Required Knowledge:

  • Prior experience as an educator or administrator in the K-12 market a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of funding sources and bidding requirements in the K-12 market.

  

Experience Required:

  • Existing network of district-level administrators within the territory is preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years successful sales experience in the K-12 market, preferably district level education sales. 
  • Software or ASP sales experience is required.
  • Experience in handling a multi-state territory with multi-task responsibilities.

 

Misc:

  • Employee must reside in the Great Lakes/Midwest part of the United States.

  

Skills/Abilities:

Strong PC skills, including knowledge of current administrative software for handling word processing, spreadsheets, and other tasks required to perform the job efficiently.
