We are looking for a Traffic Coordinator to join our Marketing Department who will be responsible for our daily newsletter campaigns from inception through delivery – making sure content deliverables are scheduled on time, sent to the production and QA teams and that newsletter ads are scheduled appropriately. This entails routing to appropriate individuals within our production workflow system. It also includes tracking the progress of these activities to ensure successful completion within deadlines. Verbal and written communication with all potential stakeholders on project progression is essential.
The Traffic Coordinator will interact with the different groups within Marketing such as Content and Art Direction, our Product Management Department including QA and Technology to traffic and coordinate the various steps in our newsletter production process. The Traffic Coordinator will work within a team to develop activity schedules for the daily newsletters, including smaller schedules to support special projects and incremental activities, complete with milestones to achieve. Our production time on newsletters is 1.5 days ahead of the date they are scheduled to go out via Strong Mail.
This position will require an organized, multi-tasking professional with a strong comprehension of email newsletter production. It will involve a great deal of schedule development, tracking and monitoring production flow and the interpersonal skills necessary to achieve results while meeting tight deadlines. The position requires a keen ability to work with myriad people across multiple departments and the means to acquire complete information, achieving a full understanding of project parameters and certain technology constraints. An ability to work gracefully under deadline pressure and shifting priorities is a must.
This position, which is part of the Marketing Department, will report in to the Sr. Content Manager who manages the content and production of our email newsletters. Our daily email campaigns go to out to nearly three millions subscribers and have a big impact on our business.
KEY QUALITIES:
- We are looking for someone who is tech savvy and can navigate projects in a fast paced internet environment.
- We’re looking for someone who is a process whiz and can refine, recommend improvements and brainstorm on ways to maximize time and effort in our email production.
- The person in the seat must be an excellent communicator and a diplomat in order to traffic our email campaigns to delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determining the best solution for scheduling and tracking while supporting our newsletter editor
- Ability to determine path of production at all stages and phases of the newsletter process
- Keeping production/workflow schedules up-to-date, troubleshooting and keeping managers/Marketing/Production and QA staff appraised of project status
- Suggesting appropriate ways of improving process (streamlining efforts even further)
- Keep multiple newsletters on track and meeting very tight deadlines
- Working closely with the content team to ensure results
- Working with Art Director to ensure images are delivered in a timely fashion
- Sharp proofreading skills
- Some knowledge of SEO practices
- Ability to use older content management systems where links, keywords, blurbs, and taglines are inputted manually
