Description

General Summary:

  

Responsible for service of group insurance benefits for a block of employer groups, involving continual contact with clients.

 

                 

Essential Job Functions:

 

*    Act as liaison for carrier and client in completing all administrative steps including implementation of new policies, reviewing plan documents for completeness and accuracy, coordinating employee enrollment and implementing new administrative procedures with clients.

 

*    Prepare communication material and conduct employee meetings.

 

*    Resolve problems and answer questions regarding billings, claims, eligibility, interpretation of policy procedures, etc.

 

*    Preparation of Form 5500 Filing.

 

*    Advise clients of any changes in government regulations which may impact their plan.

 

*    Maintain internal files and records.

 

*    Attend applicable client meetings.

 

*    Back up to Benefit Analyst on team.

 

Other Job Functions

 

*    Perform other work related duties as assigned.

 

*    Regular and predictable attendance.

  

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



*    Two years experience in the group health and welfare insurance field in a position such as group insurance representative, marketing support or administration or corporate benefits coordinator.


*    Ability to acquire and maintain state life, accident and health insurance license.


*    Course work leading to HIA designation recommended.


*    Must be PC literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Word for Windows and Excel.


*    Must possess solid math reasoning and problems solving aptitude.


*    Strong presentation and facilitation skills; excellent oral and written communication skills a must.


*    Excellent customer service skills required.


*    Must be well organized and a self-starter to handle multiple task assignments and projects with critical deadlines.


*    Must be thorough, detailed oriented and be responsible for working with confidential information.


*    Must project a professional image and have the ability to work in a "team environment.”


Education and Experience:


College graduate or equivalent work experience.


Physical Requirements:
