Description

 

Pentagon Federal Credit Union is a $14 billion financial institution and nationwide lender with a $6 billion residential real estate portfolio.  In this position you will manages the timely completion of all processes related to mortgage collections in various states, ensuring foreclosure timeline compliance and problem resolution within the mortgage collections unit. Maintains excellent member service and support to members.



Responsibilities

·          Monitors foreclosure/bankruptcy actions on 1st and 2nd mortgage loans and secures collateral documents.  Ensures foreclosure timeline compliance.

 

·          Evaluates and resolves  foreclosure problem files and escalates recurrent problems or files posing potential significant loss to the credit union.

 

·          Ensures all documents meet established Federal and State standards.

 

·          Provides effective communication and service to members,, department staff, vendors, attorneys, court systems, and other departments.

 

·          Records all collection activity in the appropriate collection systems, documenting the current status of defaulted loans and follows up continually for pertinent documentation as required.

 

·          Responsible for staying informed of all regulatory/industry/state updates and communicating these to staff and management.

 

·          Gathers data and prepares various reports for management.

 

·          Identifies training and cross training opportunities for collections staff as appropriate.

 

·          Updates P& P related to Real Estate Collections as necessary.

 

·          Keeps abreast of all industry trends related to mortgage delinquency.

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred, or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.

 

Minimum five years of experience in a collections environment.

 

Working knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations pertaining to real estate collections, foreclosure and bankruptcy practices and laws required.

 

Knowledge of preventative, productive and remedial financial counseling, required.

 

Strong oral and written communications skills, required.

 

Understanding of the mortgage payment processing system, desired.

You do not need a security clearance but you must  pass a credit and criminal background check.
