Description of SQL Database Developer

The SQL Database Developer develops data-driven solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Visual Studio .NET working independently or on a small team with minimal supervision.  Expert knowledge of database queries, triggers, functions, and stored procedures and excellent analytical skills are required.  The scope of solutions includes prepared and ad hoc reports, modifying custom applications, extending commercial applications, and implementing or modifying application interfaces.

Expert proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL for queries, triggers, functions, and stored procedures is required.  Experience in VB.NET or C# is highly desirable.  Microsoft SSIS and SSRS, Crystal Reports, and IBM DB2 SQL experience is desirable.  Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint or Microsoft Performance Point is a plus.

Requirements for SQL Database Developer

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Logistics or related major is preferred
• At least 5 years of related work experience 
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills 
• Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office
• Ability to thrive under pressure and occasional chaos
• Must be full of positive energy and a good fit in our existing small team
