Description

GStek, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for Electronics Technician I, II, and III openings at our Charleston, SC location.

 

Qualified applicants will have the following experience:

 

  • Successful completion of a military electronics curriculum, such as Class "A" School, in the ratings of ET, RM, or CTM; or equivalent civilian education and work experience
  • Two or more years of experience in electronics related to job responsibilities described below
  • Experienced in cable fabrication IAW DoD STD 2003, to include power, data, and fiber optics
  • Highly desired:  one or more years experience in equipment rack fabrication to include the interpreting of Cable Block diagrams and Rack Elevation drawings

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems.  Maintains and repairs electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.  Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant standards.

 

Diagnoses and repairs communications, sound, or security equipment and systems.  Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

 

Performs diagnosis and repairs on electronics and mechanical equipment.  Performs preventive maintenance operations as required on a periodic basis.  Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.

 

Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.

 

Builds complex cables to technical specifications.  Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.  Installs radio and specialized equipment in government vehicles and ships.

Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.  Hire dates are dependent upon the issuance of an interim or final government security clearance.
