Position summary:

• To serve as a consultant/resource person in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluate of care for pateints with stomas, draining or diabetic wounds, fistulae, incontinence and potential or actual tissue trauma.
• To provide preoperative and postoperative counseling and patient education regarding ostomy managment, wound management, and other related concerns.
• To perform job duities in accordance with the Medical Center's purpose.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and three (3) years of related experience; Experience cannot be substituted for educational requirement.

License(s) required for job:

Mississippi RN License or eligible  

Special knowledge, skills & abilities:

• Knowledge of ostomies, fistulas, pressure ulcers, incontinence and wound care.

• Knowledge of gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems including pathophysiology.

• Skills in the use of personal computers and related software applications

• Verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to assess, develop, and provide patient/family and staff education.
