Description
Our client a market maker in the industrial components industry is seeking a Product/Program Manager for their operation in S. TN-N.GA. This is an outstanding company with international operations in five countries. We are looking for a person that will complement our team and bring a wealth of knowledge about account management, customer service, etc. This company welcomes innovative thinkers with new ideas.
The program manager will be responsible for the following:
Customer and Gross Margin Management,
Optimize the effectiveness of our sales channels and earn their mind share,
Market and Marketing Management, and Product Line Management.
The Product Manager serves as a commercial and technical liaison between our customers and our product development, engineering, and manufacturing areas.
Manage the primary sales and product development process. Based upon management input, maintain the focus of sales and product development on key objectives.
Establish priorities for all product development projects. Coordinate the sales and product development efforts towards common goals.
Compose product development information into effective sales presentation tools.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining acceptable gross margins on existing and new products.
Establish and manage proper sales and product development documentation and filing procedures in accordance with corporate quality and management policies.

Requirements

. We are looking for the best person for the job. I am interested in seeing all candidates that have the experience outlined below.
Required skills include the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances,
Comfortable making product presentations, use of MS Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel for analytical use.
You must be customer driven with a focus on rapidly responding to opportunities.
You must be well organized and have great attention to detail.
We are looking for someone that brings the maturity necessary to balance customer needs with corporate objectives and capabilities.
You must have a proven track record of success in hands-on, high-profile, high-bandwidth positions.
You should be a hard charger who thrives on satisfying customers and understands that success is achieved in the “trenches” by outperforming competition and exceeding the needs and expectations of our customers.
You will possess proven project management skills and the ability to control multiple programs (30 to 35) at the same time while completing them on-time and within budget. (Those who are in automotive that are used to managing two or three programs need not be concerned about the number of programs. This is far less complex than launching a new car line, a seating system, interior, etc.
You can demonstrate how you have successfully led product development and introduction programs and you will have a history of achieving objectives by working through others in a TEAM environment.
This person must be technically strong and hopefully have an understanding of PPAP and APQP.
You will be a person with highly developed oral and written communication skills. This includes being a good listener, hearing, clarifying the needs of the customer and the management of the company. You will be able to work with time restraints and guidelines.
We hope to find someone that has a solid understanding of continuous improvement and lean systems.
This position directly reports to the Vice President, Global Sales and Product Management. Position will offer competitive compensation package and a bonus potential.
Our client prefers a local candidate. However we also want the best possible person for the job. If you must relocate we will negotiate a limited relocation package that will
not include any real estate commissions, closing costs, etc
