• The candidate will be working in a production environment as well as development/test environment, evaluating, installing, upgrading, and configuring databases. 
• Design and execute database backup and recovery procedures including disaster recovery. 
• Configure and maintain SQL jobs and SSIS Packages. 
• Troubleshoot the interaction of Web and Windows applications, reports, and database.  
• Execute ad-hoc queries and generate reports for users in a timely manner.
• Create and modify stored procedures as data sources for application and reports. 
• Deploy new releases of applications on Windows environments to include scripting, configuration of application components and environments, testing, documentation of activities, and updating code repository. 
• Provide day-to-day technical and functional expertise for both systems. 
• Provide real time feedback during Joint Application Development (JAD) and Technical Working Group (TWG) sessions / meetings. 
• Required to provide technical input for creation of policies, procedures and associated documentation. 
• Provide level of effort estimates to manager for project efforts.    
• Research and investigate problems and develop viable solutions and/or workarounds; report findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to team. 
• Work with the Document Management Specialist to record all routine procedures and update appropriate documentation as needed.

• SQL Server 2005/2008 applied experience (3+ years) , DTS/SSIS, and  SQL Reporting Services required. 
• Experience and knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 2003 and XP) necessary. 
• Position will require limited on-call status to support system requirements, initiatives, or customer requests after hours and during weekends. 
• Candidate must be flexible. 
• Must be intuitive, self-motivated, and demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and advanced interpersonal skills. 

Desired:

• Knowledge and experience with Visual Basic .NET, Extensable Markup Language (XML), Web Services.
