Description
The preferred candidate will have general experience with semiconductor wafer handling and specific hands-on experience with plating processes and related chemical analyses. This position will be part of the Wafer-Level Packaging team and will provide primary process execution for daily, routine plating and related processes as directed by the lead plating engineer.
Tessera's wafer-level optics team (Tessera North America, Inc.), based in beautiful Charlotte, North Carolina, develops and manufactures wafer-level camera, wafer-based micro-optics and micro-optical systems. Qualifications
Education: Minimum High School Diploma; AAS degree preferred
Experience: Minimum of 2 years hands-on plating and related chemical analyses experience.
· Ability to carefully follow instructions with attention to detail.
· Must be well organized and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Must be neat and maintain good housekeeping in plating and analytical lab.
· Ability to change/adapt quickly in fast paced, dynamic environment.
· Eager to learn and acquire new skills.
· Ability to handle very delicate and expensive components without breaking during entire process duration.
· Good verbal and written communication skill – proficient with Microsoft office applications (esp. - Outlook, Excel, Word).
· Must be able and willing to work primarily in standing position for extended periods (up to 4 hours).
· Ability to work effectively and productively with minimal supervision.
· Must be available for flexible working hours including weekends per production needs.
· Occasional Interface with various departments/engineering groups in cross-functional efforts to resolve product-related issues.
· Execution of daily plating process workload.
· Data analysis and SPC charting skills.
· Practical plating process problem analysis and problem solving.
Specific Skills:
· Safe chemicals handling - Must be willing and able to handle and work with acidic and caustic chemicals while maintaining strict compliance with required PPE and safety procedures at all times.
· Use of basic chemical analytical tools, basic mathematics, use of Microsoft office applications esp. excel and word.
· Documentation rigor: Must maintain detailed required daily log.
· Inventory management: Manage plating materials (chemicals, supplies, glassware and analytical tools, etc.) inventory to assure no lapses in availability of critical materials.
Working Conditions
Work to be performed in a cleanroom environment requiring external gowning to be worn over street clothes including head, hand and shoe coverings. Additional protective equipment may be required for some activities.
